FALL IMAGES IN THE WEST - ED LECTURES A BEAR AND I HANG OUT WITH A "MOVIE STAR' OWL

We are still in Park City, where Ed encountered his bear and I got sucked into posing with Stewart, the owl from the Harry Potter movies. I don't know about that cause I've never seen the films. He was perfectly behaved and a perfect gentleman at all times however. And to prove that he was alive, you'll notice that his head is blurry in the last photo, he could really whip that thing around. The large brown thing in the background is a stuffed grizzly that I wasn't too fond of, I like them alive. The whole thing was some kind of a promotion for a resort or something. The owl's trainer was a nice guy named Jeff who had an album full of celebs posing with Stewart and other birds of prey. He's worked on other films that required trained birds, but I can't name them. Anyway, we are leaving here tomorrow and heading south to Moab, Utah, right near more Nat'l Parks. Don't know about Internet connections there so we might be 'off the air' for a while. Hope everyone is still watching and please comment, we'd love to hear from you!

YES FOLKS, A NUDIST RANCH IN UTAH OF ALL PLACES! ALSO SOME PRANCING HORSES (NOT ON THE NUDIST RANCH)

We were taking a drive through the mountains when we came upon that sign. I almost busted a gut! Who would ever think "nudist camp" and "Utah" in the same sentence? Didn't see anything but the sign, thank God. I hear that most of the people who go in for that sort of thing are rather up in years. Not a pleasant picture. Anyway, the horses were running away from the place in horror. No, not really. Wanted to see how the camera would handle the action shots, it did pretty well. Besides, we don't often see horses in action, they're usually just standing there staring off into space or heads down eating. This was a little different.

Park City and the surrounding mountains in the snow and Ed greets a rather strangely attired moose

We had about an inch of snow on Monday, Sept. 24. That's the earliest I've ever encountered it. It was all gone by late afternoon, as you can see in the photo of Ed and the "moose."

Main St., Park City, Utah and Ed gets in a little skiing

Park City is pretty but pretentious, very well-to-do and arrogant; and the WORST drivers anywhere! Everyone is on a cell phone at all times, driving (and even walking) is a hazard. Lots of galleries and designer shops, but only one theater, don't know where they screen all those movies for the Sundance Film Festival. Went to the Olympic Center where they held some of the alpine events at the 2002 Olympics. That's where Ed did his "skiing." That picture is a riot, he doesn't know I've posted it yet. The other pix is of ski jumpers practicing. They start their jumps on a slide, then land in a pool (so that's how they practice without any snow)
